Ratan Tata is one of India’s most successful and respected business leaders. He was born in 1937 in Mumbai and is the former chairman of Tata Group, a multinational conglomerate with interests in a variety of sectors including steel, automobiles, IT services, chemistry and hotels. Tata started his career in the family business and rose to become the chairman of the Tata Group in 1991.
Under his leadership, Tata Group became one of India’s largest and most respected industrial conglomerates. He has also been inducted into the American Academy of Achievement, the International Business Council, the Indian Business Hall of Fame and the Foreign Policy Association.
